Accessing Health & Social Care Service: Asylum Seekers & Refugees

Our Access to Health care project is to listen and to explore how people have been accessing their health care and what that experience has been like for them.
In January 2023, we held two separate face to face focus group sessions with Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Leicester to seek their views, concerns on their experiences in accessing health care service.

Accessing Health and Social Care Services: Somali Communities

Our access to Health care project is to listen and to explore how people have been accessing their health care and what that
experience has been like for them.
In November 2022, we attended a Somali women’s groups in Leicester to seek their views on their experiences in accessing health care. We engaged with nine members of the community. This was a face-to-face focus group session which were culturally sensitive and community interpreters were used where required.

Our access to Health care project is to listen and to explore how people have been accessing their health care and what that experience has been like for them.
In November 2022, we attended the Deaf Community Centre in Leicester to seek the deaf communities' views on their experiences in accessing healthcare. We engaged with eight members of the community. This was a face to-face focus group session which were culturally sensitive and community interpreters were used where required.

Experiences of Hospital Discharge and Post-Discharge Care Homelessness

Our project set out to look at how the HRA (Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) works in practice for homeless people in Leicester and Leicestershire by gathering feedback from homeless people and those who work directly to support them.
Our aim was to understand the experience of hospital admissions and discharge of homeless people and the ease of accessing post discharge care in the community.
