Leicester City Council’s Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles Campaign
The Supervised Toothbrushing video explains the Supervised Toothbrushing programme which has been running in Leicester since 2015.
The Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles! team support nurseries, childminders, pre-schools and primary schools throughout the city to implement Supervised Toothbrushing.
The programme does not replace toothbrushing at home but instead promotes healthy habits and provides another opportunity for toothbrushing to protect against tooth decay.
Watch the short video to understand the benefits of the programme and what it looks like in practice.
If you’re an Early Years setting and interested in finding out more about the programme, please contact the Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles! Team: healthyteethhappysmiles@leicester.gov.uk
The Healthy Happy Teeth video is a fantastic animation for families and Early Years settings to use. It has a toothbrushing timer, catchy song and reminders about the best way to brush. Key oral health messages are shared at the end of the video and these are translated into 9 different languages to help promote healthy teeth and happy smiles!
