    Our access to Health care project is to listen and to explore how people have been accessing their health care and what that experience has been like for them.
    In November 2022, we attended the Deaf Community Centre in Leicester to seek the deaf communities' views on their experiences in accessing healthcare. We engaged with eight members of the community. This was a face to-face focus group session which were culturally sensitive and community interpreters were used where required.

    Our Access to Health care project is to listen and explore how people have been accessing their health care and what that experience has been like for them. We have identified groups and we will seek to listen and outline what the specific issues are for those communities.
    Our focus for this project was to engage with asylum seekers who have been accommodated in hotels in Leicestershire.
    In July and August 2023, we visited five hotels in Leicestershire and spoke to 85 people.

    experience has been like for them. We have identified groups and we will seek to listen and outline what the specific issues are for those communities.
    Our focus for this project was to engage with asylum seekers who have been accommodated in hotels in Leicester.
    We wanted to find out any challenges people face, the barriers that they have to accessing services and how they perceive and interact with the health and social care systems.
    In August and September 2023, we visited three hotels in Leicester and spoke to 65 people. We also visited the Leicester City of Sanctuary in October 2023 and spoke to 25 people.

    Our coffee, chai and chat group sessions aimed to listen and explore how people from ethnic communities find accessing their local health and social care services, what that experience has been like for them and what barriers there are that stop them from accessing the services that they needed to address their health and wellbeing.

    When it comes to accessing health and social care, your views count. Part of our role is to understand the experiences of people who are using these services and to give people an opportunity to speak up and have their voices heard.
    We developed a survey to give us a snapshot of how people in Leicester and Leicestershire who identify as lesbian, gay,
    bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) access local services.
