131 local Healthwatch services across England have signed a powerful open letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, urging the government to reconsider proposals that would bring public voice functions under the control of local authorities and NHS bodies.

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire (HWLL) and Healthwatch Rutland (HWR) is calling on women and girls of all ages, backgrounds and communities to take part in a new survey about their experiences of health and care services. We want to gather real stories and insights to help influence and improve the way local NHS and care services support women and girls.

Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire publishes Annual Report 2024–25: Championing community voices to improve care

More than 10,400 people have shared their experiences with Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire over the past year helping to highlight what’s working well in health and care and what still needs to improve.

At the same time, the team helped over 9,200 people find advice and information about local services. This included support with GP appointments, dental care, social care and getting help for long-term conditions.

Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire are inviting members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community to share their experiences of accessing local health and social care services. We want to hear your voice.

It’s been over a decade since our last major engagement with the Deaf community, when we published a joint report in partnership with the Leicester Deaf Forum and British Deaf Association in 2014. Since then, health and care services have undergone significant changes and now, more than ever, we need to understand the current challenges and opportunities for Deaf people in our area.

New research highlights ADHD diagnosis can change people’s lives, giving them a better understanding of themselves, improving their wellbeing, self-esteem, and concentration at work.
